Chi-Town

We LOVED our short vacation. We have always wanted to visit Chicago, even live there and we finally did! The Shaw family loves Chicago, my dad and brother-in-law both served there mission there, so we had plenty of stuff planned to do there!

Friday--
We decided to try our luck and get on an earlier flight since we were on standby, and luckily we got on! After and extremely bumpy ride through 80 mile an hour winds, we made it there. We thought since the airport was so close to the our hotel we could just take a taxi, little did we know taxis were SOOOO expensive, cost us 40 bucks. We spent that night riding our new friend, The Metra, and staring up at the insanely tall buildings in downtown Chi-Town. I have never been to a big city, so it was amazing to me, especially since the first building I looked up at was the Sear's Tower, tallest building in the whole world.

Saturday--
We spent our day in the City, mainly on Michigan Ave, basically my new favorite place EVER! It is full of tons of great shops, amazing buildings && of course the river! We went to a delicious pizza place, but had to wait 45 mins, it was insaneo. We also went to the beach to meet up with one of Ben's friends then made our way back to Michigan Ave.  I guess for fun everyone gets on their boats, parks them near the dock, blasts their music and just parties all day. Wish I could have that life, ha ha.

yummmyyy pizza
i LOVE this building
ice cream man stopped by :)
Ben loves his Blackhawks
Beach in Chicago, I sure didn't know that

Sunday--
We woke up only to realize we couldn't get on a flight home. All flights were booked and at least 12 standby on each flight. So we decided to at least see the city one last time then head to the airport for the last two flights out. We went to the Sears Tower, now called Willis Tower, and went 104 flights up to see the amazing view. It was fantasic up there you could see forever, but the best part was the glass boxes. 2 inch thick glass that you step out on, hoping that it won't break, it was unreal! After a quick bite to eat we were on our way to the airport, leaving the greatest place ever!

We love you Chicago and we will be back soon :)!
Happy Tuesday!

ps. still no luck on the wallet finding, we are heading to the airport tonight, hopefully it will be there.
